FEBRUARY SNOW MOON - Honoring Imbolc | Feb 2, 2026 - 6 - 8pm

$50.00

Imbolc marks the quiet turning from winter to spring. It is the festival of awakening, a moment when the earth begins to stir beneath the frost. Traditionally celebrated on February second, Imbolc honors Brigid, the goddess of hearth, healing, and inspiration. It is a time of purification, returning light, new beginnings, and the first hopeful signs of the coming season. Even in the coldest months, Imbolc reminds us that life is already moving toward renewal.

We will begin our evening with a gentle conversation about the energies of Imbolc. Students will be invited to reflect on what is beginning to open or awaken in their own lives. The discussion centers on the idea of tender beginnings and the small sparks that grow into something meaningful. Each person will be encouraged to share a thought, a feeling, or an intention that resonates with this threshold season. This shared reflection deepens the sense of community and helps us attune to the subtle magic of returning light.

Making a Brigid’s Cross

After our discussion we will create traditional Brigid’s Crosses, a symbol of protection and blessing for the home. Students will receive a small bundle of straw, dried grasses, or raffia. I will demonstrate how to fold each piece at right angles to form the woven arms of the cross. We will work slowly so everyone can follow along. As students weave the strands together they will be invited to focus on an intention for the coming season. When the weaving is complete we will secure the ends with twine and trim the tips. Each Brigid’s Cross becomes a personal symbol of renewal and a reminder that light is returning.

Imbolc is the ancient Celtic celebration of midwinter, a festival that honors the first signs of spring stirring beneath the frozen earth. Traditionally held at the beginning of February, it marks a time of renewal, inspiration, and the sacred spark of life returning to the land. Often associated with the goddess Brigid—patron of healing, poetry, and the hearth—Imbolc invites us to light candles, bless our homes, and set intentions for the coming year.

In this Snow Moon gathering, we’ll dive into the rich traditions of Imbolc through thoughtful discussion, hands-on crafts, and a gentle seasonal ritual. You’ll have the opportunity to create meaningful items such as a Brigid’s cross, a charm for your home, or a candle anointed with herbs to bless your space through the rest of winter. We’ll explore the symbolism of fire, milk, and the threshold between winter’s stillness and the promise of spring.

This is a cozy, reflective evening designed to inspire and uplift. All materials will be provided—just bring your open heart and your quiet hopes for the year ahead.
